How do I reset the position of the Account Reconciliation divider?

KB436

Overview

The Account Reconciliation form is comprised of a set of filters at the top, a section/column with your Accentis Transaction list on the left, a section/column with your Bank Statement list on the right, and a divider bar in the middle. This divider is moveable to allow you to easily increase the amount of text visible on each side as needed. Occasionally, you may find that the divider bar has been moved too far to the right, and you can no longer see the bar to move it back to the centre. To fix this you will need to reset the column widths.

Process

To reset the column widths, you will need to use the Windows Registry.

  1. Ensure you are a Windows System Administrator OR have a System Administrator ready to perform an administrator override.
    • NOTE: This is not the same as administrator permissions within Accentis Enterprise.
  2. Close Accentis Enterprise.
  3. Open the Windows Registry via Start > Regedit.
  4. Navigate to:
    • Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Accentis\Enterprise\ColSpecs
  5. Delete the two column specifications called:
    • AcctRec_BS
    • AcctRec_TL

  1. Restart Accentis Enterprise
  2. Open the Account Reconciliation form and position the divider bar in the middle of the form.
  3. Hold down your SHIFT key and click the red “X” to close the form (while still holding SHIFT).
    • This will save the layout of the form and should prevent the divider bar from being hidden again.

Additional Notes

If you follow these steps and find that the divider bar is still not immediately obvious, check on the far right-hand side of the form. It can sometimes appear that this process has not worked if you use a particularly large monitor. The image below shows the divider bar to the far right, but it is still accessible and can be moved.
